Why Should I Visit A Same Day Dentist for My Restoration?

Posted on: March 5, 2017

Same Day DentistIf you need a dental restoration or suffer a damaged tooth, do not hesitate to reach out to the same day dentist for prompt assistance. Also known as CEREC® dental care, same day dental care allows for fast but thorough dental restorations. There is no longer any need to take multiple trips to the dentist in order to enjoy the benefits of a restorative material.

Dentistry advances now allow for same day restorations so the patient can move on following the restoration without having to return for additional visits.

Below, we take a closer look at why patients should visit with the same day dentist for a dental restoration.

Why Same Day Dentistry is so Convenient

If you have a tooth that requires a restoration or suffers a cracked, chipped or other damage, obtain assistance as soon as possible. There is no sense waiting for a general dentist to open when help is available through the same day dentist. Modern-day chairside restorations are made possible thanks to cutting-edge technology along with complex software and a specialized printer. The patient can wait in the office while the machine creates the restoration. We can implement that on the same day and the patient will not have to return for a subsequent visit.

As an example, it might be necessary for a dental crown to be made to finish a root canal procedure or to restore teeth damaged in an accident. CEREC® makes it happen on the same day. We can position a crown with natural looking ceramic on the front or back teeth in surprisingly little time. This way, patients can move on with their day as they desire, whether it is going to a work meeting, returning to class or tending to other business. Patients will not have any reason to feel self-conscious about the way their mouths look thanks to the same day dental treatment. There is no need to return for any type of follow-up treatment as we complete the restoration in a single visit.

A Closer Look at CEREC Technology

Same day dentistry makes use of high tech tools to keep the teeth and gums in tip-top shape. The term CEREC® refers to Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics or CEramic REConstruction. This is a digital scanning of the area of the mouth where the restoration will be. The system designs the restoration right away. The final restoration’s milling also occurs during the same appointment.

An example of CEREC® technology is the use of an Omnicam three-dimensional 3D mouth scanner that is optimized to perform a scanning of the natural tooth without any type of powder. Eliminating this powder coat facilitates the scanning process. Both half-arch and full-arch scans can be performed with ease. The three-dimensional model can even be displayed in color on the monitor with each surface displayed in its natural shade. These are the tools necessary to perform dental restorations on the same day without flaw. Call us for more information or to schedule an appointment today.
